Preview of Setting

The Setting

The setting is based in Adswood, Stockport, close to St. Ambrose Church. The house has been refurbished over the last few years and is very modern, safe and secure.

Indoors the children have full use of the downstairs rooms, such as the living room and garden. Children are allowed to use the upstairs bathroom and will be supported if needed. The setting has access to a secure outdoor area for children to explore and is used all year round, no matter the weather. There are also several parks nearby and the area has good transport links. As you can see, the setting offers children a clean and safe environment with a warm, friendly atmosphere.

The setting is open from 7:30am - 6:00pm, Monday to Friday all year round and only closes on bank holidays or special occasions. To see planned closures for the current year click here.

Routine

Just like adults, children feel more confident and secure when their daily activities are predictable and familiar. A consistent daily schedule and step-by-step routines give children a predictable day. While there is a routine in place within the setting I always take into account every child's personal needs and think about what benefits everyone. To see what a typical day looks like click here.

Extra curricular activites may include:

  • French - teaching basic French through songs, stories and visuals
  • Dance - children are encouraged to be active and move to music
  • Gardening - using the outdoor garden to teach children about looking after the world we live in
  • Mindful Moments - encourage children to take to relax through breathing exercises and yoga

Events

Throughout the year the setting celebrates many events including religious holidays such as Christmas, Rosh Hashanah, Eid and Easter. For a list of events for the year click here.
